At the Hometown Hall of Famer ceremony held at Snider for former Panther Rod Woodson, a plaque honoring Woodson, Fort Wayne, and Snider was presented to be displayed at Snider High School celebrating each. Woodson’s high school All-American, collegiate All-American, and professional Hall of Fame career began right here in Fort Wayne. At the ceremony, Woodson exhorted the students present:

“Hopefully you can walk past this plaque and realize you can be a Hall of Famer at whatever you do. When times get hard, it’s time to work. Don’t start crying and want to quit. Don’t be a quitter. ‘I can’t’ should not be in your vocabulary.”

“I know a lot of you guys at your age are like, ‘I hate Fort Wayne, I want to get out of here.’ But remember what you learned here when you leave, because it’s a foundation you can build upon for your whole life.”

Special thanks go out the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Allstate, Snider High School, Snider HS Athletic Department, and of course, thank you Rod Woodson for the opportunity to let Fort Wayne and Snider shine.
