2011 Season over Seniors and team to be honored

Photos from the Semi-State game are in the gallery.

With the 2011 season behind us the Snider Panther football team looks forward to the 2011 banquet to honor the team and its Seniors.  This season started out slow but ended with a legit chance to advance to Lucas Oil and a state title chance.  This season was filled with great moments and a Regional Championship.  The Regional Championship had eluded the Panthers in recent years but this years Seniors regrouped and pulled together to get that goal accomplished.

We will have photos of this years banquet an will have updates thru the year as we head into the 2012 season.  Snider football.org wants to thank all of  you  who supported this site this year and all those in the past.  Each year we will strive to make this site even better than the year before.  We had over 8,300 individual vists with over 60,000 views to the photo gallery.  Snider Football thanks you and we can’t wait till next season.

A special thank you to the Class of 2012 students.  This years student section was the one of the best in Snider High School history.  When you mention Class, you think of this years students…you guys and gals ROCK!!  The main photo is for you!!

Panthers battle come up short at 2011 Semi-State

CLICK HERE   (broadcast by indianawebsports.comOn Saturday, Indianawebsports.com will be at the Kilmer Classic girls basketball shootout, at Snider High School.   Featuring Snider, Northrop, Canterbury and Wabash.  Click the above tab to enjoy a great day of Girls Basketball.

This Semi-State, a rematch from a game earlier this year has the feeling of a 1st time meeting.  The Panther team that traveled to Osceola to face the Kingsmen is not the same team that is traveling to face the Kingsmen and a chance to play at Lucas Oil stadium.  This Snider team led by a group of determined Seniors is not going to Penn to participate in a Semi-State game, they are going to play a game and win a Championship.  Penn is undefeated and is odds on favorite to win but not without facing this group of Senior Panthers.  This is not a game of revenge, of paybacks or remember earlier this year.  This is a Championship game being played with 35 Snider Panther Seniors who, according to the local news got lucky against HamiltonSE.  Snider was the better team last week and those in attendance saw what happens when a team decideds to play for a Championship.  Tonight, we play for a Championship and a trip to Indy.

Congrats to the following Panthers for their ALL-SAC Seletion: Addison Dellinger, Ruben Holcomb, Kendrix Thomas, John Nelson, Donte Bowen, and James Starks.

This is a special shout-out from Sniderfootball.org to the student section and to all the cheerleaders.  YOU GUYS AND GALS ROCK!!  Your support at the games this year has not gone unnoticed, its been AWESOME!!

Panthers D blanks Kokomo in 2nd half-2011 Sectional Champions

Snider hosts Hamilton Southeastern at Wayne High School,  Friday 7:00pm for the 2011 Regional title.

Photos added from the Championship win over Kokomo.

The Panthers started with a TD on the opening kick, 7-B. Olden recieved the kick and took it back 79 yards to make it 7-0.  However Kokomo showed why they belonged in the Championship game by taking their 1st possession in to tie the score at 7-7.  Back and forth was the theme until Snider went up by 3 before the end of the 1st half at 31-28.  The 2nd half was all Snider.  2 long plays that were called back due to penalties did not deter the Panthers.  The offense feeding off the defense kept the pressure on Kokomo and it proved to be to much.  The final score 52-28 showed how strong a team effort it took to capture this Sectional Championship.

Special congrats to Senior Running back 5-John Nelson as he went over the 2,000 yard mark for the season.
